The project was led by AOL head of design Ryan O’Connor.
The new site retains the previous photo-led design, which aims to create a ‘magazine style’ look and feel, according to AOL. The gallery area of the site has now been redesigned for easier viewing across all devices.
The site is now fully optimised for use on all devices including mobile, tablet and desktop computer. Comments can now be more easily posted and viewed.
AOL says, ‘Many mobile versions of sites are quite limited, but our goal was to carry over as much of the desktop experience as possible all the way down to a phone size screen.’
Other AOL platforms will also move to responsive designs in future, according to AOL.
