Art V Cancer
The Art V Cancer project was set up by artist Chris Thornley (aka Raid71), who was diagnosed at the age of 37 with a rare incurable form of lymphoma.
Having received extensive treatment, Thornley now works with Art v Cancer partner Julia Hall and both devote their spare time to the initiative, which sells limited-edition prints to raise money for cancer charities including Cancer Research and Prostate Cancer UK.
Artists including Si Scott, Stanley Chow and Sam Octigan have all contributed prints, and Art V Cancer held its first exhibition (which featured a contribution from actor Sir Patrick Stewart) last year.
A second exhibition is now being planned, to be held next month in Manchester, based on the theme Bending Time and Space.
Raid71 will naturally be contributing, as will artists including Tyler Stout, Joshua Budich and Godmachine, with a full line-up coming soon.
Art V Cancer: Bending Time and Space, will be held at 2022NQ, 20 Dale Street, Manchester M1 from 30 August.
