Motto X KesselsKramer
While many things are lost in translation (such as most Eurovison entries, many a dubious holiday menu offering), great design loses none of its power when crossing boundaries.
Celebrating this fact, east London gallery KK Outlet is embarking on what it describes ‘an old fashioned foreign exchange’ next month, trading places with Berlin based bookshop Motto.
Kicking off the exchange, Motto is bringing a selection of publications to be shown at KK Outlet, showing a curated display of artist’s books, writing, monographs, and periodicals selected from its catalogue of more than 3000 titles.
Alongside the publications, KK Outlet will also display a series of editions and limited print-runs by artists Motto has worked with, including David Horvitz, Stefan Marx, Jonathan Monk, Venessa Safavi, Erik Steinbrecher, and Erik van der Weijde.
In August, the London gallery will return the favour, taking a number of its works across to Berlin.
Motto X KesselsKramer runs from 5 – 27 July at KK Outlet, 42 Hoxton Square, London N1 and at Motto, Berlin from : 9 – 31 August at Motto Berlin/Chert Gallery, Skalitzer Str. 68, im Hinterhof 10997 Berlin
