Uncarriable carrier bags

Ad agency Mother has created a series of plastic carrier bags that are unusable in public – unless you want to risk arrest or public humiliation…

The bags are decorated with silhouettes of weapons, syringes and sex toys, marking the carrier out as a violent junkie or sex addict.

Mother first launched the uncarriable bag concept in 2005 and has revived the series with a new range of designs.

The agency says, ‘Plastic bags are bad for the environment, but sometimes we really need them. The question is how badly. Badly enough to carry some undesirable objects?’

The bags are given away by Mother to (presumably delighted) friends and clients.
