A Top Trumps-style guide to improving Streatham High Road

Consultancy Maddison Graphic has worked with architect We Made That to produce the Streatham Street Manual, which proposes renewal projects for the south London thoroughfare.

The book presents key projects – such as wayfinding signage and a mobile kiosk – as ‘Top Trumps’ cards rated by impact, timescale, complexity and cost.

We Made That is working with The Greater London Authority, Lambeth Council and local business improvement district InStreatham to develop public realm improvements.

The Streatham Street Manual, which is available in print and also hosted online at www.instreatham.com presents a series of proposals for the area.

These include installing window boxes, creating new signage at Streatham Hill Station and improving pedestrian footways.

All these are rated ‘Top Trumps’-style in criteria including impact, timescale, complexity and cost.

The book also features a series of graphic representations of proposed projects, maps of the area and photography by Jim Stephenson.

We Made That says inStreatham BID is now using the Streatham Street Manual to secure funding to deliver projects such as a high street play trail.
