The Chase’ co-founder and director Ben Casey has led a project to rebrand Preston City Council.

Casey, who is also head of the School of Graphic Design at the University of Central Lancashire was commissioned by Preston City Council, which is looking to better reflect its position as ‘one of northern England’s brightest development and investment hotspots,’ according to leader of Preston City Council Peter Rankin.

Preston has been earmarked as one of the Government’s City Deal investment areas and is pumping £400m into the city.

In 2013 Casey designed the Preston Guild City place brand to help drive investment and raise the profile of the city.

The work on the new Preston City Council brand has been carried out pro bono and Rankin says, ‘Ben [Casey] has now updated – again at no cost – the Council logo so that it is in line with the Preston Guild City brand.

‘We can now present a more joined up and professional approach to how we market the city and we are very grateful to Ben for doing this work for free.’

A gradual roll-out is being activated across buildings, vehicles, clothing and stationery.
