Visit Wales, the tourism arm of the Welsh Assembly, has appointed Event Exhibition and Design to build all its exhibition stands at PGA golf tournaments over the next two years.

Event Exhibition and Design was handed the £350 000 contract following a four-way competitive pitch between itself, Strata PR, Court Design and Fernleigh.

The touring stands will appear all over the EU in locations like Switzerland and at the Alstom Golf French Open, which will be held outside Paris in France. ‘The challenge was to build a stand that can go up and down in four days and adapt to fit the exhibition space,’ explains Event Exhibition and Design managing director David Dow.

The consultancy was chosen as a preferred supplier of design and build exhibition services to the Welsh Assembly for the next three years.

It has recently won other contracts with clients including Tesco, British Meat and the Atomic Weapons Establishment. This week, it unveiled an exhibition at Aldermaston military base about the UK’s nuclear weapons, in anticipation of the rebuild of the Trident missile system, which has recently been approved by the Government.
