Innovision gets Tour de France event rolling

Transport for London has appointed events management company Innovision to stage the prestigious opening ceremony of the Tour de France next month, the first time it has started in London.

The Grand Depart, taking place on 6 July in Trafalgar Square, kicks off with the Prologue route down Whitehall, where Tour de France riders and teams will race past Downing Street towards Big Ben on a 7.9km course, past some of London’s most famous landmarks.

A TfL spokesperson said the event will include a surprise live music event.
