The mergers and acquisitions market within the design and branding world is expected to stay the same for 2007, while activity will be burgeoning in the Web and interactive sector. This is according to the latest M&A survey from business advisors Willott Kingston Smith Results.

The marketing communications industry as a whole continues to expect strongest organic growth in the Web and interactive sector, in what is predicted to be a very active M&A market this year.

Most of the respondents to the survey – 55 per cent – expect M&A activity to stay the same in the design and branding sector.

Eight respondents indicated that they would be entering or expanding into the design and branding sector.

According to Mandy Merron at WKS, ‘This is important for designers who are involved in the interactive market, as this will be a good selling point. If consultancies are thinking about selling they should do so in the next couple of years.’

Interest in M&A activity remains buoyant, in a market where buyers expect to be more active than sellers.
