Luxury accessories brand Liberty of London unveiled its first flagship store yesterday, in the capital’s exclusive Sloane Street.

Designed by Liberty of London creative director Tamara Salman and Paris-based architects Pierre Beucler and Jean-Christophe Poggioli, the store is the first independent showcase for the distinctive London brand.

Salman says, ‘The new store will establish Liberty of London as a luxury retailer in its own right and create the blueprint for future stores worldwide.’ She adds, ‘The store will be super-luxe and its design will reflect Liberty’s opulent past while projecting the modern and contemporary vision of the brand today.

The store’s façade represents a meeting of old and new, with a bronze cut-out of the famous Liberty crest emblazoned on futuristic glass double doors. Displayed inside are a series of large floral 3D friezes by commercial sculptor Simon Doughty, interpreted from an original Liberty archive design.

The new Liberty of London store is situated at 197 Sloane Street, London SW1. See www.libertyoflondon.co.uk for more details.
