Design Art London becomes Pavilion of Arts & Design

This year’s Design Art London fair has been renamed the Pavilion of Arts & Design London, and will feature a stronger decorative art element.

Organisers Patrick Perrin and Stéphane Custot have developed the concept to mirror their Paris event Pavillon des Arts et du Design Paris, now in its 13th year.

The London fair, to be held in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, from 14-18 October, will feature London galleries Adrian Sassoon, Carpenters Workshop and Rove Gallery, among others. A spokeswoman for the event said some 25 of the 32 galleries which exhibited last year would return, and new galleries were being brought on board.

As part of the fair, designers including Zaha Hadid, Philippe Starck and Mattia Bonetti will produce miniature chairs for children, which will be sold at the event, with all proceeds donated to the NSPCC.

Other events will include the Moët Hennessy Prize, which sponsors the donation of the winning decorative art piece to the prestigious collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and the awarding of the Best Exhibit and Best Stand prizes.
