Sir Christopher Frayling honoured with RCA doctorate

Outgoing Royal College of Art rector Professor Sir Christopher Frayling is to be made an honorary doctor of the RCA.

He will receive the honour when he stands down at a convocation ceremony next month. Apple senior vice-president of industrial design Jonathan Ive and sculptor Tony Cragg will also receive honorary doctorates.

Wolff Olins co-founder Michael Wolff and Professor Frank Height, professor emeritus of industrial design, will be among those receiving senior fellowships, while Ron Arad, outgoing head of the RCA’s design products department, will become a professor emeritus.

Interior designer Victoria Conran, wife of Terence, will receive an honorary fellowship.

The convocation ceremony will be held on 3 July.
