HIV and Aids awareness organisation Designers Against Aids launched a new safe sex campaign today, which will be seen on trams across the city of Antwerp in Belgium.

In conjunction with the Antwerp Pride event, which will be held later this month, ten trams have been covered with the DAA’s new poster campaign, targeted at underground and overground commuters.

The concept of the campaign was created by DAA creative director Michael James O’Brien, with design by Antwerp-based graphic designer Tom Tesseyn. The posters have been put up thanks to Flanders public transport company De Lijn.

The trams will travel across the city throughout June, where it is hoped that they will raise awareness of the DAA outside of its usual realm of fashion and pop culture.

Trams were chosen for the project following the success of similar double-decker bus campaigns last year during a collaboration with Fashion Against Aids, says Designers Against Aids founder and director Ninette Murk.
