Architect Owen Luder joins SBID as board director

Architect Owen Luder has been appointed as the new executive board director by the Society of British Interior Design.

Luder will be setting the standards for the SBID accreditation to be recognised as a fully qualified interior designer and will address issues such as fee agreements, client communication, contractors and suppliers, contracts, risk management and indemnity insurance.

SBID president and interior designer Vanessa Brady says, ‘Owen was someone we had been considering. He had been driving for change for many years and is a big campaigner, understanding what we want to achieve.’

She adds, ‘We needed someone who understood construction and design as well as architecture to join up, and we’re happy to say he agreed.’

Luder joins Vanessa Brady, SBID president and interior designer; Michael Rose, chairman of The Building Centre; and Niall Trafford, director of sustainable development and chief operating officer of Bre.
