BDP works on Fritz Hansen furniture store
Architect BDP is working on interior designs for a new flagship store for Danish furniture brand Fritz Hansen, which is set to open in London in September.
The Republic of Fritz Hansen store is set to open on Margaret Street, W1 and will operate as the brand’s first UK store as well as its headquarters.
The store will be housed in a duplex space with large, double-facing windows on to both Margaret Street and Great Titchfield Street. A spokeswoman for Fritz Hansen says the interior design will feature ‘clean, simple lines and natural materials’.
Fritz Hansen is operating the store in partnership with Scandinavian design retailer Skandium, which will host a branded area within the store.
As well as pieces by Fritz Hansen, the store will also feature furniture by Iittala, Georg Jensen and Louis Poulsen.
Magnus Englund, co-founder of Skandium, says, ‘Fritz Hansen’s iconic designs combined with our proven retail experience in giving customers a wide product choice, served by knowledgeable staff in a well-presented environment is a winning formula.’
