Anthony Burril and People of Print’s Paper & Ink
Graphic design star Anthony Burrill and printmaking aficionados People of Print have collaborated on a poster series to celebrate Fedirgoni’s move to new showrooms.
The paper manufacturer looked to the designers to create posters from the new Fedrigoni Materica paper, showing how it can be used in printmaking.
More than 200 posters were screen-printed in two bold colours during an event, hosted by People of Print designers Marcroy Smith and James O’Raw, showcasing Burrill’s signature direct style.
Smith says, ‘We have been speaking with Pari [Taylor, head of marketingand promotion] from Fedrigoni for a while about a potential collaboration and the fact they were moving into a new space was perfect for us. The event was to celebrate printing and paper amongst creatives.
‘Anthony has an iconic style that would work well with the screen-printing process. His bold and to the point style was very effective for the event.’
People of Print says there are plans to work with Fedrigoni in future – though their lips are sealed as it any more information.
Smith adds, ‘We have worked with Anthony a few times and there are a few more ideas in the pipeline. He is very keen to collaborate in all different manners. He’s currently out in Cairo with some traditional tent makers….’
