The London Illustration Fair launched last year with a brilliantly bustling event in the Hoxton Arches, east London, featuring work from 20 emerging illustration talents.

The summer incarnation takes place next weekend, with all illustration, print and graphic works taking on a totally tropical theme.

Among the ten exhibition stands will be work by JSR Agency, Brothers of the Stripe, Hero of Switzerland, Hato Press, Campaign for Drawing and East London Printmakers.

We’re particularly excited about seeing the work by David Shillinglaw, who will be creating an outdoor mural live throughout the event.

Other highlights look set to be Hello Print’s Print Your Own Ice Cream Monster events, and on a more serious note, there will also be one-on-one drop in portfolio tutorials with Handsome Frank director Tom Robinson.

A pop-up shop will also be in place over the weekend selling artwork, prints and zines from the likes of Alec Doherty, MysteryMeat and Lucille Clerc.

The organisers say, ‘The Summer Festival brings together commercial agencies, independent start-ups and charities, celebrating the breadth of illustration and the graphic art practice and its dynamic relationship with contemporary culture.’
