The Transport Systems Catapult is the UK’s technology and innovation centre for Intelligent Mobility – the process of harnessing emerging technologies to improve the movement of people and goods around the world.
It has been set up by the Technology Strategy Board and is one of seven such Catapult schemes, each of which is looking to make the best of emerging technology in a different sector.
‘Transport Systems and Intelligent Mobility have an estimated global value of £900bn by 2025 and cover everything from driverless pods to electronic tickets,’ says Simon Hutton, MD at tothepoint.
During early conversations with the TSC, tothepoint says the phrase Intelligent Mobility kept being mentioned as a defining principal.
The consultancy has since sought to develop a creative strategy to align the message of Intelligent Mobility with the business in the form of a campaign.
It will roll out across a range of media, the largest of which is the ‘Imovation Centre’, which was previously known as the innovation centre.
The Centre is open to the public and will serve as a hub for project work as well as somewhere for people to discover IM and how they can get involved.
The ‘IM’ device is used in a range of different ways including on name badges which read ‘IM…’ followed by a name.
An animation has been developed and a toolkit, which is a set of cards exploring 21 themes within Intelligent Mobility. It includes an A5 booklet explaining current projects and the market value of Intelligent Mobility.
