Triple Exposure

Such surreal scenes as a suited man in a shower, a naked woman with a fox head and bikini-clad models at a posh dinner do are to go on show at a new east London exhibition this month.

The exhibition is entitled Triple Exposure, and will display the work of three photographers – John Thornton, John Stoddart and Alistair Morrison.

Running for a month at the Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery in Hackney Wick, the show’s images are as witty and beautiful as they are peculiar.

Morrison’s career has seen him capture such stellar names as Bette Davis (of ‘eyes’ fame); Sir Lawrence Olivier and Tom Cruise, and his photographs of Kate Winslet and George Harrison will be among those appearing in the Hackney show.

This wonderful image of chef Marco Pierre White clutching a squid is by Liverpool-born John Stoddart, who has seen his photographs appear in publications including The New York Times, Vanity Fair and French and Italian Vogue.

Thornton, meanwhile, has seen his work dubbed ‘Magnifico-Fantastico’ by none other than Salvador Dali, according to the gallery. We love his edgy Terror of Broken Mirrors piece – all sharp edges, blood red nails and dangerous glamour:

The gallery says, ‘All [the photographers] have very different approaches and styles, and together have joined to create an exhibition that covers just about every subject matter and photographic medium you can think of.’

Triple Exposure runs from 27 June – 31 July at  Forman¹s Smokehouse Gallery, Stour Road, Fish Island, Hackney Wick E3 2NT
