Updating classic Manchester transport designs

A group of students from Manchester School of Art have updated vintage transport posters from the 1930s for a new exhibition.

The new works are being exhibited alongside the originals at a free exhibition at Manchester Central Library until August.

The students were invited to respond to a selection of vintage posters as part of a joint project involving Manchester Metropolitan University, Transport for Greater Manchester and Manchester City Council.

And work by student Natasha Campbell, which is on show at the exhibition, will also be used across Manchester’s Metrolink network this autumn.
