The Israeli-British artist has lived in London since 2006, having studied in Jerusalem Academy of Art & Design before taking on an MA at London College of Communication.

The works are all inspired by urban landscapes and architecture, with particular emphasis on those found in the capital.

Alter says, ’In my art I strive to simplify visuals to the degree that they’re somehow abstract. I’m using ”unnatural” colours to enhance the feeling these are an assembly of shapes and remove it further away from the original “meaning” of the image.’

Last year saw the artist hold his debut solo show at the Kemistry Gallery, City and other projects have also included creating the branding for London’s new TV Channel, London Live and designing a range of merchandise for Tate.

So what’s up next for Alter?

‘I’m currently working on a new series of prints which is very colourful and geometric but a different treatment to my City work’, he tells us.

‘The subjects are colourful icons of popular culture. The pieces are not prints nor objects but something in between.’
