Cimex unveils Film Club site

Interactive consultancy Cimex has designed a website for Film Club, an organisation created to provide an after-school cinema club resource for children.

The site, www.filmclub.org, enables schools to register and access 62 000 films, free of charge. A search-and-order facility is included on the site, as is space for user-generated content that allows pupils to rate and review films. In the future, directors, actors and film industry figures are expected to visit schools and contribute content to the website.

Cimex was appointed to the project in November 2006, following a competitive pitch against three other, undisclosed, consultancies.

Film Club, in association with companies including the UK Film Council, LoveFilm, The Guardian newspaper and the British Film Institute, is working with teachers and students to set up after-school film clubs where children can access films of all genres, past and present, free of charge.
