CPB to rejig Museum of London look

The Museum of London is poised to appoint Coley Porter Bell to redesign its brand identity, following a credentials pitch thought to include Johnson Banks and The Partners.

It is understood that CPB’s surprise appointment will be signed off during the next few days.

A spokeswoman for the museum confirms that the selection process is it an advanced stage, but declines to reveal consultancy names.

Led by its director, Professor Jack Lohman, the museum announced plans last year to double the size of its in-house design team and invest £9m in the overhaul of its exhibition space and brand identity (DW 25 May 2006).

Lohman said that the museum would appoint external design groups to work on branding, identity, interactive and audiovisual design.
