Saatchi & Saatchi Design has appointed David Gilligan, a former freelance design director at Landor Associates, to the newly created role of executive creative director.
Gilligan brings a number of years of experience in the branding sector to the advertising agency’s design division, including a stint as acting design director at Enterprise IG. He has worked with clients such as Vodafone, Nike and Credit Suisse.
According to Saatchi & Saatchi Design managing director Ashley Goodall, the executive creative director post has been created following a number of ‘sizeable wins’ earlier this year.
‘We are gearing up for a period of significant growth. David’s appointment strengthens our capabilities at a senior level,’ says Goodall. ‘His main strengths are in brand identity, branded language and branded art direction which form the lion’s share of our work.’
Goodall, a former director at Fitch, was brought in by Saatchi & Saatchi last summer to develop a ‘modern and world-class design capability’ at the ad agency.
