Latvian bank unveils AI work

Bank design specialist Allen International has created a retail-style interior for Latvian company Hansabanka which will be extended across eastern Europe.

The design adopts elements of retail interiors and introduces the type of visual direction system which would normally be found in a department store or supermarket, says Allen International design director Richard Benson. The colour palette is light and the environments have been organised to reduce queuing by separating daily cash transactions from consultation areas.

‘The branch layout is planned in such a way that people can orient themselves easily and have a clear understanding of the range of services offered,’ adds Benson.

Hansabanka plans to roll out the concept across neighbouring Baltic countries, with 30 branches in Lithuania and 15 branches in Estonia expected to have adopted the format by the end of this year. The company will also open six completely new branches, and is investing LVL10m (£9.6m) in branch extension and refurbishment over the next two years.
