Lewis Moberly expands board

Lewis Moberly has appointed two board directors to help create the ‘consultancy of the future’.

Giles Darwin, currently business director at Coley Porter Bell, joins as client services director and Design Bridge board production director Sean Gilbert moves over to take the same role at the branding group.

The pair join creative director Mary Lewis and managing director Robert Moberly on the board and will be responsible for business development. Darwin will head the account management team and Gilbert will develop the consultancy’s working and client-delivery procedures, as well as managing the in-house production team.

According to Moberly, the appointments build a ‘second tier of management’ and are a part of longer-term concerns for management succession at the business. He also says that the consultancy is undertaking ‘extensive research’ to determine what clients will want from a design group in 2010 and beyond.

‘The emphasis is very much on creativity rather than size, although exactly how the consultancy will shape is still to be decided. Questions of breadth and depth of what we offer are under consideration. And ultimately succession is a consideration. It would be irresponsible for people in our position not to consider where the business will be in ten years’ time,’ says Moberly.

Lewis Moberly’s clients include Cafédirect, Dior, Boots and The Body Shop. It employs around 40 people across its UK and France offices and has a six-strong executive board.
