35 Communications wins Tesco digital task

Tesco has appointed branding consultancy 35 Communications to redesign and develop its corporate website.

Tesco has appointed branding consultancy 35 Communications to redesign and develop its corporate website, www.tescocorporate.com.

The site will be used by shareholders, staff stakeholders and investors, and is launching in stages, says 35’s director Thom Newton, starting with the investor relations centre, corporate responsibility centre and report microsites on 13 May.

Coinciding with the publication of Tesco’s annual reporting documents the initial sites will be followed by the relaunch of the entire website, which will show ‘the personality of Tesco’ and is expected to go fully live in July, adds Newton.

35’s appointment follows its work on Tesco’s on-line reporting documents, and it will be applying ideas used in these to the main site.

Newton says, ‘We are restructuring and reordering the site so that it is tailored to the individual, and all users can access the information they need with ease.’

In 2007, 35 was appointed to produce Tesco’s full suite of corporate reports including the annual report, annual review, corporate responsibility review, stakeholder summary and the on-line versions of the documents.

35 will be partnering with Investis to deliver the back end of the site.
