DBA appoints membership director

The Design Business Association has appointed Jacqueline Rose as its membership and communications director in a bid to boost the number of people joining.

Starting in the newly created position this month, Rose says she intends to strengthen the communications side of the DBA, and will be appointing two membership executives with design experience below her in coming months.

Rose was formerly head of design management at recruitment agency Gabriele Skelton, where she also managed the agency’s rebranding in 2006 with Hat Trick Design. She was previously head of design management at Major Players.

Her responsibilities in the DBA role include looking after existing members, creating new products and services, trend analysis, as well as managing the DBA’s quarterly newsletter and producing fortnightly e-zine bulletins.

Rose says, ‘I am looking forward to taking the business forward through networking and seeing people, rather than being behind a desk.’

Appointed by the DBA’s chief executive Deborah Dawton, Rose has spent 15 years working within the UK design industry.
