Artisan du Chocolat is opening a new store and chocolateria in west London later this year, designed by Bart Lens of Belgium-based architect Lens Associates.

The chocolate retailer’s dedicated chocolateria will feature a seating area with room for 16 people. The bar will offer a menu of nibbles and cocktails made with chocolate and cacao by-products.

A largely brown interior will be broken up by splashes of orange colour on the walls. Lens has suggested brown glass shelves designed to help maintain the retailer’s standard chocolate offer at the correct temperature. Seasonal chocolates will be displayed in white modular units.

A giant white plantation light, with a panoramic picture of a cacao plantation on its inside curve, is intended to provide the main focal point for the room.

An outdoor seating area will be open to customers in the summer.

The chocolatier aims to open this, its third store, and the chocolateria, on Westbourne Grove, W2, in late May.
