Museum of Liverpool seeks branding consultancy

National Museums Liverpool is looking for a design consultancy to create a logo and branding for the new Museum of Liverpool.

The £72m museum is currently under construction at Pier Head on Liverpool’s waterfront, and is due to open in 2010.

The museum aims to tell the story of the city’s history, and will include the work of Brookside creator Phil Redmond and the music of the The Beatles, as well as a children’s gallery.

National Museums Liverpool director of marketing and communications Joanna Rowlands says that she is looking for an ‘all-encompassing, comprehensive brand’ that will be implemented over the course of a year.

Consultancies wishing to pitch should submit their credentials by 27 March, after which six groups will be shortlisted and progress to the second stage.

Exhibition design group Haley Sharpe Design is creating the interiors for half of the exhibition space, while Redman Design and Northern Light will design the remaining galleries.
