SAS appointed to BP briefs

SAS is creating recruitment marketing communications for energy giant BP, after being appointed as its sole recruitment marketing communications supplier for graduate and experienced candidate attraction.

The consultancy won the contract following a competitive pitch. Previously, the work had been handled by several different consultancies.

SAS is now working on BP’s spring graduate campaign, which will include the promotion of the BP Ultimate Field Trip on campus and through PR channels.

Emma Hardaker-Jones, head of resourcing: sourcing and policy at BP, says, ‘BP has very specific recruitment objectives both in the short and long term, and we believe that a single supplier who can deliver through all forms of marketing communications on a global level is what we need.

‘SAS and the wider Publicis Groupe network have a proven track record for developing and delivering strategic recruitment campaigns.’

Jeremy Sice, managing director of SAS, says, ‘We are delighted to have been appointed by BP and look forward to working with the global recruitment team to increase awareness and attractiveness of BP as an employer.

‘This win demonstrates how the media-neutral disciplines within our network can deliver a strategic approach and solution, provide BP with a long-term plan to complement more traditional advertising channels and build a deeper level of engagement with candidates across all levels and markets.’

Sice adds, ‘We will be looking to shift more to engagement strategies – if you want to become the employees’ choice you have to engage with them, not broadcast to them.’
