Plymouth-based consultancy Studio Space One is designing a brochure showcasing the works of art commissioned by the city’s NHS Zest programme.

Sam Gray, managing director of Studio Space One, says the consultancy is also being appointed to a separate brief to produce toolkits for design elements of buildings commissioned under Zest, which aims to improve healthcare environments across Plymouth.

Gray says the consultancy was appointed to design the brochure following a pitch featuring two to three other groups.

He says this brochure, which will feature works being commissioned at the moment, will be produced in the next six to 12 months.

Zest has commissioned five artists – Lucy Casson, Fabrizia Bazzo, Emma Spring, Lesley Kerman and Susan Deakin – to work with the organisation on a number of new art projects for the Devonport Health Campus (currently known as the Cumberland Centre).

Following its appointment to design the brochure, Studio Space One was also commissioned to create design books for colourways and furniture layouts for new buildings produced under the Zest programme, which works on new and refurbished health buildings.

The current redevelopment of the Cumberland Centre site in Devonport will see a new dental school and a new primary care centre built. The scheme will also see the refurbishment of the current Cumberland Centre.
