Design Week set to launch redesign and new blog

The redesigned Design Week is set to be released tomorrow. The new design has been led by art director Sam Freeman.

A new trim size and paper stock have been introduced, as has the use of Akkurat fonts from Line To, replacing Univers.

New regular features include a weekly Best of the Web, and a Don’t Miss section, highlighting some key forthcoming events.

This week’s issue also features Conran Group chief executive Roger Mavity writing about the value of design in a recession, and Adrian Shaughnessy on Twitter.

DW is also launching a new blog, set to go live tomorrow on, which will cover news, gossip and developments in the design world in an informal and light-hearted manner.

The blog will be free, while all magazine and website content, other than the blog, will be available to subscribers only.
