Does classic chair design make you think of Parisian cafes and pert bottoms? Er… me neither, but it will now that Thonet have unveiled the winners of the 214×214 photography competition.

The German furniture manufacturer celebrated the 150th birthday of its iconic 214 chair by inviting photographers to pay homage from behind the lens.

First prize was awarded to Berlin architects Martin and Christa Schönherr for their wholesome photograph of a grandfather and his grandson. Maxime Delvaux’s shot of his girlfriend’s wickerwork-imprinted rump followed close behind in second place. Marcel Kabisch scooped up third prize.
