The new Design Events department, which will officially launch at the beginning of April, will focus on helping events organisations such as conferences, trade shows and festivals increase exhibitor and visitor numbers and raise their profiles in an increasingly competitive market, says Form partner Paula Benson.
The department will be led by Form designer Joe Wassell Smith, who has worked on design and branding for UBM trade show Interiors, food festival Taste London, and Face Time, the trade body set up by the Association of Event Organisers.
The consultancy will also be recruiting a new business development manager to work in the department.
Form partner Paul West says, ‘[The new department] is a natural evolution from lots of work opportunities that have happened over the last couple of years.’
He adds, ‘Events is an area ripe for strong, considered design. Just because events are often organised on a shoestring doesn’t mean that their design should be done on a shoestring.’
