Do the Green Thing
Environmental charity Do The Green Thing is selling 23 limited-edition posters, designed by the likes of Michael Bierut, Pete Fowler and Google’s Tom Uglow which will be sold to raise money in the run-up to WWF’s Earth Hour.
Do The Green Thing, co-founded by Pentagram partner Naresh Ramchandani, is releasing one poster a day from 1 March until 23 March, when the WWF Earth Hour event will take place at 8.30pm, with people across the world encouraged to turn off their lights for one hour.
Each poster will be limited to 23 prints, each of which will be for sale to raise money for the charity.
The posters will be released through the organisation’s social media channels, using the hashtag #23posters.
Patrick Cox, formerly of Wolff Olins and one of the contributors to the project, says, ‘I’ve always loved Do The Green Thing’s ability to stay away from the earnest do-goodery of the green movement.
‘They know a dig, joke or nudge is way more effective than another image of a polar bear.’
