UNHCR tenders for branding groups
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is establishing an international branding, strategy and campaigns framework as it seeks to ‘refine’ its identity.
The UNHCR was set up in 1950 and leads and co-ordinates international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee crises. It has a staff of more than 6000 people in more than 110 countries.
The organisation says, ‘The scale of our operation is huge and our staff often work heroically in some of the most challenging environments.
‘Yet many people have never heard of us. There are huge barriers to awareness and understanding and these impact negatively on the organisation’s ability to generate the support that it needs to fulfil its mission.’
It says it is seeking to appoint consultancies to a new framework to develop its strategy, fine-tune its tone of voice and get key messages across in the right way.
The branding work will include a project to ‘refine, standardise and consolidate’ the UNHCR identity, including the development of new brand guidelines.
The UNHCR says it is hoping to establish the framework in July, and that it will last for two years, with a possible extension for a year.
The deadline for applications is 19 April. For more information and to apply, visit www.unhcr.org/514042c29.html
