Whose team are you on?
Video game enthusiasts and the style-conscious aren’t always the most obvious bedfellows.
However, a new collaboration between designer Giles Deacon and Nintendo may be about to change that.
Marking the launch of the game Luigi’s Mansion II, Deacon has designed a limited-edition t-shirt inspired by the game’s graphics.
The idea behind the t-shirts is to show a little love for Luigi, who so frequently gets sidelined for his better-known older brother, Mario.
Deacon says, ‘I was inspired by elements of my past collections and combined these with the exciting graphic sensibilities associated with Luigi. I love Luigi!’
Luigi’s Mansion 2 sees Luigi step into the spotlight as he endeavors to clear some haunted mansions of their poltergeist inhabitants, armed with a ‘Poltergust 5000 ghost-grabbing vacuum cleaner’.
The busy graphics on the shirt are drawn from the spooky characters of the game, with a bunch of cute little ghosties jostling alongside Luigi hats and a number of other Nintendo critters.
People can tweet their support of Luigi with the hashtag #teamluigi
