Fredrikson Stallard to open show

Furniture design group Fredrikson Stallard is to unveil its furniture exhibition tomorrow with a collection created from unusual choices of materials, including chairs made from urethane with liquid-like wraps of polished stainless steel.

Fredrikson Stallard has developed the collection, which includes the Pyrenees sofa, the Rubber table, the King Bonk chair and the Aluminium Series tables, using a new combination of colours and a ‘cross-pollination of materials and processes’.

According to Patrik Fredrikson and Ian Stallard, ‘The pieces evoke messages embedded and juxtapositioned into the chosen material, its tactility, temperature and colour and form. Our world is getting more complex, and design – furniture design in this example – has to adapt to this. We need more than a good chair to sit in’.

The collection launches at David Gill Galleries, Loughborough Street, London SW11.
