It’s Recognition Day today

Recognition Day, a day dedicated to encouraging recognition of the kindness of others devised by graphic design consultancy Cog Design, is celebrated today.

Cog Design founder Michael Smith explains that the idea came out of what he feels is the ‘general apathy and daily grind’ of living life in a major city like London. This year’s campaign was launched with a series of postcards created by design students across the UK, as part of the Recognition Awards.

The look and feel of the campaign was designed by Cog and features a rosette icon, which has been applied across the website, www.recognitionday.org, and promotional material.

Smith says that Recognition Day has snowballed from something that was initially intended to be a low-key event, into something that has been picked up by local and national media. He is in talks with trade bodies to extend the reach of the campaign for next year.

What a superb idea – the website looks fantastic – cant wait to get my pack. Cant believe the size of the cash prizes for the students! How many entered?

Good luck and happy recognition day!
