Pentagram SF partner fires off Ammunition bullet

Pentagram Design San Francisco partner Robert Brunner, who is leaving the consultancy this summer, is to set up a product design and development consultancy called Ammunition.

Based in San Francisco and Padova in Italy, Brunner will bring his entire product design team and client base to his new venture. The move is consistent with the Pentagram business model whereby each partner is responsible for their team and clients. At Pentagram, Brunner has worked with clients such as Dell, Amazon and Microsoft.

According to Brunner, the emphasis at Ammunition will be multidisciplinary, like Pentagram, ‘but focused on the product experience and all that surrounds this. We will provide product design, brand development, interactive development, user interface and packaging. We will continue to work with Pentagram on projects where collaboration will add value, especially as our work extends into retail’.

Following Brunner’s departure from Pentagram in July, Daniel Weil from the consultancy’s London studio will take over the group’s product design discipline.

Brunner joined Pentagram in 1996 from Apple Computer, where he was director of industrial design.
