999 creates South Bank Uni marketing collateral

London South Bank University’s 2008/09 student marketing communications is being created by 999 Design.

Part of the design brief is to make the university’s brand stand out in the UK’s competitive higher education market.

The Shoreditch-based branch of the consultancy is developing a cohesive ‘family’ of student marketing materials which include leaflets, posters, merchandise and work on the website.

‘The designs will use a colourful palette to reflect the dynamism and London roots of the university,’ says 999 managing director Aileen Geraghty.

The university’s 72-page student handbook, which is aimed at both existing and prospective students, will be published in June.

Four designers will work on the project under design director Teresa Monachino, adds Geraghty.

999 was appointed by the institution after a four-way pitch this month because its creative approach reflected the university’s ‘city feel and diverse multicultural population,’ says LSBU student marketing officer, Xanthe Lewendon.

The university defines itself as ‘urban, contemporary, street-smart, hands-on and involved’. For more information, visit www.lsbu.ac.uk.
