Engine brings all its groups ‘in house’

London-based marketing communications group Engine is set to push its integrated offer, with a move that will unite all 12 of its consultancies under the one roof.

The privately-owned company, which is parent to design and branding consultancy Dave, will bring its 12 brands scattered across five London locations together at Great Portland Street, W1, in a bid to leverage client contacts across the group.

Dave managing director Dan Bobby explains that the shared services model that the group uses – sharing costs and efficiencies by having a centralised HR and finance resource – will help the group to ‘pass on efficiencies to clients’.

Julian Hough, group development director at Engine, reveals that the group will continue to be acquisitive.

‘We are always looking for groups that are a good cultural fit. What’s probably missing from the mix right now is communications planning and market research,’ Hough says.

Engine will start moving groups into its new premises, designed by Jump Studios, early next week, with phase two due to be completed by early June.
