A new bar called Graphic, which takes its design inspiration from its location in Golden Square, opens tomorrow in London’s Soho, W1.

With interiors, branding, logo, stationery, website and signage design by London consultancy Spread Design, the 200-capacity venue will feature a brown-and-gold colour scheme.

At 140m2 in size, the design-inspired venue will replace what was previously The Midas Touch bar. It will be run by Urban Leisure Group.

Spread director Stuart Taylor says, ‘We completely changed the layout. By moving the bar to the back we have created more space’.

He adds, ‘Curved leather seating creates sections inside, while design features include gold glitter on the bar and 100 pendant lights’.

The logo displays muted brown-and-gold lettering made up from a series of depictions of the letter ‘g’, says Taylor.

It will be used on the signage, the website which launches in the next fortnight and the 18-page menus.

Spread was appointed by Urban Leisure Group through a word-of-mouth referral in November 2007 after completing a project for designer eyewear retailer Oliver Goldsmith, claims Taylor.
