Cardiff Design Festival details emerge

This year’s Cardiff Design Festival will feature speakers including typographer Bruno Maag and Andrew Shoben, founder of public art group Greyworld

Reflecting Wales, an exhibition of innovative built environment works, will make its return this year, with submissions invited from designers, artists, architects and students.

The Bioarchitecture Foundation will present a conference, Life Form, exploring geomantic built environments and ‘biological’ architecture.

The festival, which takes place in October and may be shorter than last year’s three-week event, may also be collaborating with Welsh technology sector organisation Bloc, to bring its Festival of Creative Technology 2009 to the show.

The Best of Welsh Graduates exhibition and accompanying portfolio clinic are also likely to return to this year’s show.

The festival has announced the design groups that are working on its exhibition design and marketing materials.

Hoffi is poised to revamp the festival website, Elevator is creating the exhibition panels and Design Tribe will be creating a blog and e-mail campaign. All three groups are based in Cardiff.
