Green Awards seek creative sustainability

The fourth annual Green Awards are seeking sustainable marketing and communications initiatives.

The awards recognise sustainable design in categories such as Best Green Packaging and Best Green Website. This year four new categories have been added: Best Green Public Sector Campaign, Best Green Charity, Best Green Event and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Report.

This year’s judges include John Sauven, executive director of Greenpeace UK; Marc Sands, marketing director of The Guardian; and John Grant, author of The Green Marketing Manifesto.

Lord Chris Smith, chairman of the Advertising Standards Authority and the Environment Agency, says, ‘The need to care for our planet, husband our resources wisely, and sustain our environment is becoming ever more urgent and important.

‘These awards help to put that cause at the very heart of our creative economy. They will help us to aim higher. They will both reward and encourage best practice, and as a result I give them the warmest of possible welcomes.’

The deadline for the Green Awards is 18 September, and the awards ceremony will be held on 18 November. For more information visit www.greenawards.com.
