Mytton Williams promotes land speed record talk

Bath-based Mytton Williams has unveiled its latest poster for the West of England Design Forum, ahead of a speech by Mike Turner, industrial designer with the Bloodhound land speed record attempt team.

There is no fee for the poster, which was initiated by Bob Mytton, who is creative director with the consultancy and sits on the board of the West of England Design Forum.

Wording on the poster is listed in order of descending speed of movement. Keith Hancox, designer at Mytton Williams, says, ‘Bloodhound is at the end, which is bizarre until placed in context.’

It uses red and blue, the corporate colours of the forum, a knowledge-sharing initiative for the design community in the South West of England.

If successful, Bloodhound SSC will travel at 1610 km/h (1000m/ph), faster than a bullet during its record attempt in 2011.

Turner, who designed the skin of the car, will speak on 10 June at The Watershed, Bristol, about materials, streamlining and design challenges.

Nice poster, but why isn’t the Bristol Design Festival logo on it?
