Metropolitan Works launches product design prize

Designers and makers are being offered the chance to have their ideas developed into products for this year’s London Design Festival, with the help of Metropolitan Works, part of London Metropolitan University.

The Metamorphosis scheme, set up by the university, is offering six designers the chance to access £10 000 worth of product development  and prototyping help.

Applicants must be London-based graduates or alumni of Goldsmiths University of London, London Metropolitan University, Queen Mary University of London, Ravensbourne, London Southbank University, University of East London or the University of Greenwich.

Entrants need to apply by 5.00pm on 7 June and must then attend a two-day product development seminar on 17-18 June to qualify. The seminar will give a grounding in all aspects of new product development. On the second day competition winners will be announced.
