Multi media mash up
What have hipster magazine-cum-media empire Vice and processor manufacturers Intel got in common? Not a lot you might think, but later this year the two mammoths will be working together to produce a new arts venture The Creators Project.

Mark Ronson, Shane Smith, founder of VICE, CMO of Intel Deborah Conrado, and Alan Palomo lead singer of Neon Indian announce The Creators Project
According to folklore (or the press announcement this week), the project came about following a conversation between Vice co-founder Shane Smith and Spike Jonze, the American director responsible for Where The Wild Things Are. During this no doubt zany parley, the pair discussed what project they would work on if money was not an issue. Smith’s plan was to produce a multi-disciplinary community, who could bounce ideas off each other in one big conceptual studio, much like the artistic community of 1920s Paris.
With a little help from technology giants Intel, the dream has become reality. The Creators Project will work as a content-rich website that will provide a place for artists, musicians, designers and film-makers to showcase their collaborations before presenting them live in New York, London, Sao Paulo, Seoul and a three-day exposition in Beijing later in the Summer.

UK names already involved include United Visual Artists, film-maker Chris Cunningham, producer Mark Ronson and fashion designer Cassette Playa. The London leg has been announced as 17 July, but what it will involve still remains a mystery.
Giving little away, Vice’s Shane Smith says, ‘I recommend wearing comfortable shoes this summer because together we are about to wipe humanity’s socks completely out of existence.’
You have been warned. Pencil sock annihilation in for 17 July.
