Department store heads to address retail school

Marco Capello, chairman of Liberty; Beverley Aspinall, managing director of Fortnum & Mason; and Tony Wheeler, managing director of Peter Jones, will all be speaking at the event, to be held at Keble College from 20-26 August.

The event is run by the British Shops and Stores Association and will feature a range of lectures, tutorials and workshops on subjects including marketing and merchandising.

The National Skills Academy for Retail, led by Skillsmart Retail, and the Retail Trust have teamed up to offer 11 free scholarships to the course for independent retailers.

Retailers with fewer than 1000 employees have until 13 May to apply for the scholarship at www.nsaforretail.com/oxfordsummerschool.
